Lead Mammographer

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.

This position works Monday to Friday with a Saturday and Holiday rotation.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs. Performs duties in alignment with Mammographer Multi-skilled, or Mammography Specialist. Monitors supply utilization, ordering and restocking as needed and required. Serves as a mentor and leader for others encouraging a Culture of Service Excellence. Utilizing system promoted leadership tools, deal with conflict and sensitive situations. Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of mammography candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews. Serves as a resource individual and coordinates operational activities in the breast imaging center in conjunction with or in the absence of direct supervision to promote teamwork and achievement of departmental goals. Oversees maintenance of equipment, monitoring and evaluating quality control tests ensuring equipment compliance to ACR/FDA/MQSA regulations. Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with Mammographers when necessary. If required by this department, must demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture; demonstrates proper use of power injectors according to set protocols set by department and/or manufacturer. May be required to administer PO, and IV contrast per physician orders/department policy and assess patients for potential risk factors prior to the administration of the contrast media required for the imaging procedure.
