LEAD MANUFACTURING ENGINEER – STARSHIP AVIONICS
The Starship Avionics Build team is responsible for all Starbase Avionics production, testing, and new hardware development. The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on increasing production line automation, challenging design requirements, managing build specifications, and increasing our testing capabilities and capacity. This role will play a major part in the development of a rapidly reusable, reliable rocket.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strong technical leadership with a focus on continuous improvement Manage projects, and delegate responsibilities effectively to complete work on time Determine team goals to effectively implement testing solutions Develop and enforce processes to standardize test system deliverable expectations Develop highly reliable autonomous test and production systems Own all aspects of test and build development, including requirements evaluation, system development, sub system testing, and factory integration Collaborate with teams; lead projects, and continuously drive improvement in hardware testing Collaborate directly with the design and production teams to validate process improvements Actively maintain projects that support rapid design iteration of production processes Develop test infrastructure that enables scaling to large numbers of devices under test Debug nuanced harnessing and mechanical hardware failures to ensure high quality hardware leaving the production factoryBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing or other engineering discipline 2+ years of professional experience in testing or hardware developmentPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience leading a team of diverse individuals Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Software, mechanical, and electrical design experience Knowledge of electrical systems Experience taking a creative approach to problem solving with exceptional analytical and engineering fundamental skills Experience developing, debugging, and deploying electrical test systems that have been used in real world applications/projects Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirementsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Pay range:
Manufacturing Engineer/Lead: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
