Job Description SummaryManufacturing Shop Quality Engineer responsible for delivered hardware quality and shop quality assurance utilizing Quality systems and tools with heavy interaction and association with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering and Shop Operations teams in both a New Product Introduction (NPI) and Production environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Direct hardware and process Quality development and execution on the Shop Floor in Component Manufacturing and Lab environments. Hardware responsibility includes both NPI and Low-rate production.  Ensure conformance to specification through daily management and application of Quality tools and Continuous Improvement/kaizen activity.Develop in-depth knowledge and application within a technical discipline. Leverage prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute Quality policy/strategy.Author and maintain Quality Management Policies and Procedures in support of Manufacturing Shop Operations.Perform Audits (Product, Workstation, Special Process) of a shop in support of the Quality Management System.Compiling, Reviewing, Approving, and Maintaining First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.Review and Approval of Manufacturing Work Instructions and other Manufacturing Technical Documentation.Reviewing of hardware/assembly issues for conformance, containment, and resolution as associated with Preliminary Review (PR) and Material Review Board (MRB) processing of material.Facilitation and ownership of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) for hardware and Quality Systems issuesIn-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing)

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
