We are seeking a dynamic Lead Material Program Manager (MPM) to join our Global Supply Chain team in Huntsville, AL, supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) mission. In this critical role, you will develop material strategies, drive supplier performance, and ensure material readiness to meet program milestones. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and collaboration across engineering, finance, and supply chain to mitigate risks, optimize costs, and drive program success.
The MPM reports to the Material Operations & Strategies (MO&S) Associate Director and Serves as a key liaison between Program Management and Global Supply Chain to align procurement strategies with overall program goals, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency for mission-critical materials. The MPM works closely with the Material Planner organization to ensure the review of purchase requisitions for clarity, compliance, detail, completeness, regulatory compliance and obtain additional information considered necessary; the MPM will also work with the Material Planner Organization to actively manage the procurement process from the order placement through receipt of products and subsequent payment of invoices. Some travel may be required.

Primary Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies for complex, high-value materials.Drive supplier innovation to support program growth and performance.Project management including requirements justification, planning, executing and evaluating the project. Aligning with program teams, leading cross-functional supply chain efforts, and driving communication across stakeholders.Leverage digital tools to analyze supply chain performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven improvements to support program timelinesThe MPM will mitigate and resolve supply chain challenges with priority deliveries and suppliers.The MPM will collaborate directly with Supply Chain Management and program team for proposal requirements along with other functional teammates to include planning, logistics, engineering, quality, finance, security, scheduling, and accounting.Driving supplier negotiations, resolving cost challenges, and achieving program material budget objectives.Develop and execute proactive supply chain risk mitigation strategies to address long lead times, material shortages, and geopolitical challenges. Scenario Planning and Supplier DiversificationParticipate in Program Management Reviews, Status Meetings, or other programmatic subcontractor meetings as neededControl Account Management including establishing and maintaining a baseline, support EAC/ETC updates, and variance analysisIndividual should be a self-starter and someone that is flexible and is able to work independently at a higher level.Basic Qualifications
BA degree and 8+years in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field. MBA or MS and 6+ years of related experience3+ years of proven experience leading supply chain efforts in a defense or high-complexity manufacturing environmentExperience implementing cost reduction and supplier innovation initiatives within a defense supply chain environment.Strong knowledge of Supply Chain and related systems along with material procurementRequires strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to understand and facilitate complex supply chain decision-makingStrong project management skillsProven ability to be a self-starter and quick learner, capable of supporting efforts to achieve goalsExcellent written and oral communications skills at all levels both internally and externally with customers and suppliersAbility to work in a fast-paced situation with continuous innovation and flexibility in an on-site manufacturing environmentMust be able to collaborate and effectively influence across multiple functions to achieve supply chain performance requirementsHigh level of proficiency in MS Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)Working knowledge of customer flow through requirements such as AS9100, FAR, ITAR, OFFSET, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and public lawU.S. Citizenship is required.Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one is requiredPreferred Qualifications
