Lead Materials Innovator, NXT Apparel – NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. – Perform scientific and technological investigation directed toward the acquisition of new knowledge; work on foundational research and development in materials which fuel and support the overall development efforts for new fabric and materials bringing revolutionary materials innovation to NIKE products; leverage various efforts and venues in area of expertise, managing key vendors, universities, and other resources; develop proof-of-concept prototypes; devise methods and tools for modeling, analyzing and developing products and services; collaborate with NXT (NIKE Explorer Team) Apparel Innovators to bring material solutions from concept stage to commercial status; research outside research organizations, universities, internal testing facilities, etc. to help increase understanding of materials for better utilization and competitive edge; and provide on-line information and conduct presentations and educational seminars to developers, designers, retail and other interested groups regarding technical developments, guidance and trends in the textile and materials industries. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.
Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Textile Finishing and Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related design occupation.
