VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking Lead Mechanics to support our U.S. Department of State (DoS) customer. These are overseas positions working onsite in Baghdad and Erbil, Iraq.
Positions are contingent upon task order award.
Responsibilities:
The Lead Mechanic will serve the Vehicle Management Support Services (VMSS) task order in support of the DoS and perform major mechanical repairs with minimal supervision to ensure proper performance and safety of mission vehicles. The duties and responsibilities listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive:
Assess mechanical problems in vehicles using diagnostic equipment Supervise mechanics and inspect completed repairs Oversee the rebuilding, replacement, or repair of major vehicle components, assemblies, and systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, etc. Estimate time and materials required to perform major repairs Maintain accurate, updated preventive maintenance records Train mechanics and mechanic helpers Ensure established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties are followed Ensure shop, equipment, and tools are in safe operating condition Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and serviceBasic Qualifications:
HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience as a diesel engine mechanic Active Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification Advanced knowledge of diesel, gasoline and electric engine/motor maintenance and repair Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs independently Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair Tech level service knowledge of BMW, Mercedes Benz, and/or General Motors large vehicles Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English Valid U.S. driver’s license from home state on record Ability to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) issued by the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS/SI/PSS) prior to contract performance
