This is a favorite site for students to complete externships due to the lively atmosphere and encouraging environment. Responsibilities Job Description The working lead serves as the “go to” person to assist with communication, coordinates, supervises, and provides training, orientation, and department assimilation. Encourages and motivates team for immediate problem resolution, provides a consistent presence. Anticipates, identifies, and reports departmental areas of concern to clinic supervisor. Champions and promotes a collaborative and conducive team environment. Completes sophisticated and/or high-level project work but is not a substitute for team member thinking and initiative. Lead Medical Assistants will coordinate daily activities of the team to ensure patient needs are met. They are responsible for daily work assignments and makes adjustments to meet department requirements. Lead MAs will assist with arranging immediate coverage for sick calls and assigns breaks. They will provide observations and assists with testing for proficiency regarding performance, conduct, and behavior management. The Lead will attends clinic meetings and communicate appropriate information; serving as a clinic representative at peer groups or other meetings. Leads will promote an empowering and team centered environment within the department, other site departments, and other clinics. Coordination of staff orientation, training, and orientation to new and existing staff is also be an important function of the Lead MA position. Refers standards of practice issues to supervisor for resolution. Is empowered to respond to and help resolve operational issues, including provider issues Participates in interview process. Serves as mentor within the dept Ensures safety policies and practices are maintained. Solid understanding of sophisticated equipment to ensure it is in working order and quality control logs are completed as needed. Qualifications Required 2 or more years' experience in functional area Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN Basic Life Support Certification Additional Requirements: High standard of creative prioritization skills and priority setting. Shown focus on customer service/patient service with every interaction. Excellent public relations and communication skills. Work as an effective team member to deliver outstanding care. Ability to use appropriate computer applications. Ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking skills and engage in ongoing process improvement.
