**Description:**
Saint Mary's Hospital, Waterbury CT $8,000 Sign-on Bonus
Come and join this great team and be an effective resource and Team Lead for the Hema/Coag/UA. You would be responsible for providing highly skilled analysis of blood, fluids, and tissue samples. As well as overseeing the clinical section and shifts in technical and administrative matters, as well as the Cancer Center.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Responsible for meeting all external regulatory standards (CAP, JCAHO, OSHA etc.).
+ Monitors the Quality Control and Quality Assurance Program. Maintains and updates policy and procedure manuals. Oversees/performs the technical procedures of the section(s).
+ Evaluates and institutes new methodologies. Reviews and verifies normal ranges of laboratory tests where applicable.
+ Manages laboratory supplies related to section. Monitors maintenance of laboratory instrumentation. Troubleshoots and helps to resolve technical problems.
+ Oversees the training and annual competency of current and new lab personnel. Schedules personnel and work assignments. Monitors employee performance expectations, contributes to annual colleague evaluations and participates in performance improvement initiatives.
+ Participates in various hospital committees.
+ Works with the manager/supervisor to prepare and monitor financial budgets. Participates in CAP + DPH inspections.
+ Bench assignment minimum of 2 days a week.
**Position Hours:**
40 hours, Variable day shift. No scheduled weekends or holidays. Expectation is as needed if/when any problems arise may work off-shifts.
**Minimum Requirement:**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology
+ At least four (4) years laboratory experience.
+ Certification by national accrediting agency required.
+ Knowledge of laboratory equipment and information system.
+ Requires strong communication skills, effectively communicates with patients, staff and outside providers.
+ Ability to comprehend knowledge of regulatory issues.
