Senior (Lead) Microbiologist Position + Working with management leads the daily operations of the Microbiology department, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory standards. + Implement and maintain GLP and GMP standards throughout all areas of testing + Under the supervision of and in cooperation with management, this position will provide technical expertise during audits, assistance in scheduling of testing, and ensure maintenance of equipment is performed + This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, strong initiative and follow-through, and deep technical knowledge of regulations and standards Responsibilities: + Training of all new personnel to the Microbiology department procedures + Scheduling of onsite work for the department + Participating in conference calls, e-mails, and meetings with customers as technical subject matter expert, where needed + Educate laboratory personnel in regulatory standards and industry practices + Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continuous improvements + Write and revise SOPs for process improvement + Communicate with laboratory management lab capabilities and issues in real time + Ensure that all internal procedures are followed + Perform monthly inventory counts and assist in ordering laboratory supplies + Perform onsite testing + Gowning and garbing for cleanroom settings + Assist with OOS, non-conformances, CAPA, and Change Control processes + Drive positive team culture while carrying out company goals + Maintain a clean laboratory workspace + All other tasks and duties assigned by management Education: + Minimum BS degree in Microbiology or related life science Experience: + A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Microbiology laboratory performing water testing, environmental monitoring, and USP tests. + Clean room experience and demonstrated use of aseptic technique + Excellent written and verbal communication + Extensive knowledge of FDA cGMP, cGLP, GDP, lSO, USP, ANSI/AAMl, and CLSI. Knowledge of ISO 17025 is preferred. Position is full-time, working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within commutable distance to San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.
