Lead Mortgage Compliance Manager

Job Description:

At Regions, the Business Unit Compliance Manager leads a team of first line of defense risk management experts that advise on business and/or product decisions. Associates at this level ensure that all compliance activities within their area of expertise follow the necessary rules and regulations, contribute to process change and redesign in addition to developing business plans, policies, and procedures to support a specific line of business.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversees small team of professional level compliance staff and compliance efforts for designated business unitManages a monitoring and testing program to ensure effective compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsParticipates in discussions with business partners, communicating compliance testing plan, and reviews risks identified from testingSupports business unit by collaboratively facilitating the development of processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, including participation in team meetings, business process improvement efforts, and compliance improvement initiativesMaintains knowledge of rules and regulations and their impact on products, services, and operations for a specific line of businessDevelops policies and procedures to comply with federal regulations and applicable state lawsProvides guidance to various departments regarding compliance issues and implementation of new compliance requirementsEnsures timely, accurate, and appropriate submission of information requested by regulatory agenciesAssists in the development and execution of training programs to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of directly related experience, and three (3) years of management experienceOr High School Diploma or GED and eleven (11) years of directly related experience and three (3) years of management experienceKnowledge of legal and regulatory environment as it relates to compliance in a specific line of business

Master’s degreeCertified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)

Additional Job Description:

Join a strong team and customer-oriented culture as a 1st Line Lead Mortgage Compliance Manager responsible for maturing the end-to-end Mortgage and Home Equity Product, Sales, and Fulfillment risk and control environment.  This individual will work in partnership with product, operational and sales channel business leaders, 2nd line risk and 3rd line Audit team members to ensure risks are properly identified, mitigated, and measured throughout the mortgage and home equity lifecycle and change management.  Lead a team of 1st line Risk leaders, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control professionals.  Be a strategic partner to responsibly grow the Mortgage and Home Equity business and position Regions as being the premier lender to homeowners.  Elevate the quality of control management through the use of data, analytics and automation.

Preferred Experience:

Deep understanding of mortgage and home equity lending practices, Mortgage Regulations (ECOA, TRID, etc.) and Agency requirementsStrong Mortgage Compliance background and experience including regulatory change managementHMDA, CRA and Fair Lending experienceExperience with mortgage risk management systems and toolsCredit Risk experienceQuality Assurance / Quality Control, Control Monitoring, and Risk Governance leadershipProven experience in levering automation and technology to improve the risk and control environmentBuilding, operating, and continuously improving within a mature Risk FrameworkSuperior communications, teamwork, presentation and leadership skills

Location options include: Birmingham, AL. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.

This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$163,050.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
