UPMC Shadyside is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join the team, supporting both Shadyside main department & Hillman Cancer Center! Offering a variety of shifts: 3 13-hour Daylight/Evening shifts between 6:30am – 8pm or 10am – 11:30pm or 5 8-hour between 7am – 3:30pm or 3pm – 11:30pm with rotating weekend and holiday call responsibilities. Responsibilities:

Performs all job responsibilities of Level II MRI Advanced Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment. Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of Advanced Level II MRI Tech and communicates results back to departmental leadership. Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs. Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor. Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of MRI Technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
