Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a Lead Network Engineer for our Platform Engineering team to serve as part of a talented team of engineers who collectively demonstrate excellent technical competency, reliability in delivering mission critical infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of availability, optimization, and customer service. Qualified Lead Network Engineer applicants will have a strong background in IT specifically in large enterprise network infrastructure areas.

Responsibilities Lead and manage the design and implementation of comprehensive network architectures that meet organizational needs for performance, scalability, and security.Oversee network projects from inception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management. Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within scope.Provide mentorship and guidance to network engineering team members. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.Address complex network issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution. Act as the final escalation point for network problems.Participate with leadership in regular planning discussions regarding vendors, projects, budgets, and staffing.Actively collaborate with other Foot Locker teams, including Technology Services, Information Security, and software engineers.Create, review, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and Knowledge Base articles to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available for team members and stakeholders.Ensure the network complies with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in network engineering.Ensure comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, procedures, and incidents. Prepare regular reports on network performance, incidents, and project status for senior management.

 

Qualifications Experience in network engineering with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or senior engineering role.5+ years of implementation and operations experience with WAN Edge connectivity to public cloud and CDN environments, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, Akamai, Fastly.Hands-on JIRA experience leading daily stand-ups of a network team’s workload from backlog-to-done.Experience with automating network infrastructure operations practices such as infrastructure-as-code with Ansible playbooks and/or Python scripting.Deep knowledge of IaC tools and methodologies, establishing CI/CD pipelines, CMDB/AMBD source of truth.Experience creating/updating confluence network wikis.Experience in designing & implementing Out-Of-Band networks.8+ years in network management tools, identifying application-to-network integration/dependencies, and defining network design processes.8+ years in conceptual, logical, and physical network architecture design experience in LAN, WAN, Data Center, and Firewall.8+ years designing, implementing, and troubleshooting common network protocols including: OSPF, BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, DNS, NTP, NetFlow/sFlow.Active CCNP required - CCIE preferred.

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $130,000 -$165,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
