Lead Network Engineer (Remote)
**Resp & Qualifications** **PURPOSE:** The Lead Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of robust, scalable network infrastructure to support the organization's business operations. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and availability of the network systems and services. The Lead Network Engineer will also guide and mentor junior network engineers, providing technical expertise and leadership in network architecture and engineering best practices. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** + Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy scalable network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless technologies, to support business requirements. + Network Management: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. Implement network monitoring tools and perform regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues. + Security: Implement and enforce network security policies, procedures, and standards. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to protect the organization's network from threats and breaches. + Collaboration: Work closely with IT, security, and business teams to understand network requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure seamless integration of network solutions with other systems. + Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture, configurations, and changes. Prepare detailed reports on network performance, issues, and resolutions. + Leadership: Mentor and guide junior network engineers, providing technical training and support. Lead network-related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and successful delivery. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:** Leads a team utilizing a matrix management system. **QUALIFICATIONS:** **Education Level:** Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience. **Experience** : 8 years proven success overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems and applications. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)** : + Deep understanding of network protocols, routing and switching technologies, firewall and security solutions, and network management tools. + Strong F5 and/or other load balancing experience with emphasis on complex cloud/hybrid applications. + Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently. + Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Visio for detailed network diagramming. + Ability to collaborate to solve technical problems across teams. + Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. **Licenses/Certifications** : ITIL Foundations v3 within 180 Days Preferred. Cisco Networking: CCNA, CCNP or CCIE.
