As our Lead Offset Press Operator, you’ll be at the core of our printing operations, overseeing setup, quality, and team training to bring each print job to life with perfection. What You’ll Do:


Master of Setup: Read and interpret job tickets, setting up the press to meet all unique project specs, from stock type to color requirements.Quality Tuner: Run test sets to adjust print quality, registration, and color settings, ensuring every print is spot-on before full production.Inspector Extraordinaire: Conduct pre-run checks and get the final thumbs-up from your supervisor to kick off the job.Color Specialist: Achieve exact color tones and secure approval for color accuracy before moving forward.Temperature & Offset Guru: Monitor load temperatures and offsetting to keep every printed piece in top shape.Problem Solver: Keep an eye on machine operations to detect any malfunctions, making adjustments as needed to keep things running smoothly.Chemistry Checker: Track fountain solution PH and conductivity to maintain balanced press chemistry.Documentation Pro: Keep meticulous records of job details, from sheet counts to running sequences and all essential data.Team Mentor: Guide, train, and supervise press feeders and second press operators, sharing your expertise on multi-color printing.Positive Vibes Leader: Foster a team-oriented atmosphere that drives departmental goals and company objectives.Maintenance Maestro: Perform routine press maintenance like lubrication, cleaning, and replacing rollers to keep equipment in prime condition.Safety Advocate: Follow all safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout, and ensure safe handling and disposal of materials.Jack of All Trades: Jump in to operate other pressroom equipment or assist with prepress tasks, like paper trimming, as needed.Tidy Work Space Champion: Keep your area clean, organized, and ready for action!


What You’ll Bring to the Team:


High School Diploma or GED: Your foundation for success.Color Expertise: Strong color perception and the ability to pass color vision and hue tests.Experienced Press Operator: At least five years of experience as a First Press Operator, ideally on sheet-fed equipment like Heidelberg, with CP2000 console skills.Tech Know-How: Experience with color scanning equipment and basic computer skills (data entry).Math & Measurement Skills: Proficiency in basic math and reading rulers.Printing Equipment Savvy: Skilled with densitometers, spectrophotometers, gloss meters, and PH/conductivity meters.UV Material Comfort: Ready to work with UV materials safely.Core Competencies: Accuracy, reliability, decision-making, time management, and self-motivation.Dependable Presence: Strong attendance and flexibility for overtime during peak times.
