Lead Paralegal
Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Paralegal who is fluent in both English and Spanish to join our legal team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting attorneys with various tasks related to case management, research, documentation, and client communication, specifically in injury-related legal matters. The successful candidate must demonstrate empathy and professionalism while working with clients who have sustained serious and life-altering injuries. Key Responsibilities: + Case Preparation and File Management: + Assist attorneys in preparing, organizing, and maintaining legal documents and case files, ensuring they are complete and organized. + Drafting and Editing Legal Documents: + Draft correspondence, memos, and legal documents under the guidance of attorneys to support case progression. + Client Communication: + Maintain regular communication with clients, both in person and via phone/email, to provide case updates, gather necessary information, and ensure client needs are met. + Scheduling and Calendar Management: + Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, while managing attorney calendars efficiently to avoid scheduling conflicts. + Trial Preparation: + Coordinate and assist in the preparation of trial materials, exhibits, and presentations, ensuring everything is ready and organized ahead of deadlines. + Document Filing: + File documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with required deadlines and regulations. + Administrative Support: + Provide comprehensive administrative support, including data entry, billing, and file management, while utilizing legal software tools as needed. Requirements Qualifications and Skills: + Bachelor's degree or completion of an accredited paralegal program is required. + 2+ years of Paralegal experience in a similar legal setting is mandatory. + Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation relevant to injury-related matters. + Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and verbal). + Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software/tools. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain client confidentiality and professionalism. + Empathetic approach to client interactions, especially with individuals managing serious injuries. Preferred Skills: + Experience working with injury-related litigation or personal injury law. + Knowledge of eDiscovery and e-filing systems. + Ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate with a team.
