Are you passionate about surgical pathology and looking to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes? As a Lead Pathologists' Assistant, you'll play a vital role in patient care by ensuring accurate specimen processing and supporting groundbreaking research. From dissecting and sampling surgical specimens to leading other pathologists, your expertise will help drive excellence in the lab every day. In this role, your primary responsibilities include:
* Create and manage staffing schedules, workflow management, and assignments.
* Assist with recruitment and selection of surgical lab staff.
* Collaborate with management to implement new processes and procedures.
* Assist with QA/QC and safety activities to ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, TJC, and department standards.
* Review, audit, and update SOPs and manuals.
* Perform dissection, description, and histologic sampling of a full range of surgical specimens.
* Perform specimen photography and radiography.
* Perform frozen sections and other intraoperative consultations.
* Procure tissue for tumor banking and research studies.
* Identify, investigate, and resolve problems related to surgical pathology.
* Assist with accessioning and labeling specimens.
* Provide assistance in the orientation and training of residents, fellows, new employees, and Pathologists' Assistant students in surgical pathology protocols and procedures.
Salary Range: $102,500.00 - $227,700.00/year
Qualifications
* PA (ASCP) certified.
* Bachelor's degree.
* Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
* At least 3 years of relevant work experience, such as surgical pathology and/or leadership experience - preferred.
