Job Summary

The Lead Patient Accounting Representative is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the company’s infusion billing and collection functions. The Lead Patient Accounting Representative demonstrates an advanced level of proficiency in third party payer collections. Ability to secure payment for Specialty Home Infusion Therapy Services provided by Emanate Health, and able to contact and follow-up with patients and third-party payers. Independently troubleshoots and resolves complex patient and payer issues. Acts as a resource and helps to train others. Resolves debit and credit balance accounts. Additional duties may include payer audits, software system testing, special projects and all other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Requirements:

a.Minimum Education Requirement :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some college preferred.

b.Minimum Experience Requirement:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in medical billing with a knowledge of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement is required. Medical terminology and coding, computer literate with knowledge of billing software systems is required.

Knowledge of automated billing systems is preferred. Home infusion therapy billing and collection experience is preferred, Working knowledge and application of metric measurements, basic accounting practices, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding is preferred. Knowledge of CMS regulations and requirements regarding billing and coding is preferred. Experience working with all payers – commercial, government, Medicare, and Medicaid is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multitask is required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
