The lead pharmacy technician performs a variety of duties related to the daily supervision of technicians to ensure that policy, procedures and regulatory requirements are consistently followed. Has knowledge of preparing and dispensing of medications according to standard operating procedure under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.  Displays commitment to the pharmacy department by working collaboratively with team members.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience

Three years of hospital pharmacy experience


Required Registration/License/Certification Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration.  Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) or graduate from an accredited pharmacy technician training program with CPhT status if hired after June 1, 2020.  Must maintain certification.

Preferred Experience

Five years hospital pharmacy with sterile compounding and chemotherapy preparation experience preferred.


Preferred Registration/License/Certification Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Certificate (CSPT)
