About the Role:
As a Lead Product Development Engineer, you will be at the helm of researching, designing, planning, developing, testing, and evaluating new and advanced technologies, networks, and platforms. Your role will involve translating strategic business objectives into final product designs and providing technical oversight for comprehensive IoT solutions that span system/software, hardware, and network development, migrations, and deployments across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Oversight and Leadership:Lead and provide technical oversight for end-to-end solutions on large, complex programs involving significant system/software impacts (ranging from ~10 to 50+ systems), hardware, and network development.Oversee migrations and deployments across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and internationally.Facilitate the understanding and integration of complex technical solutions, ensuring they meet business needs and technical requirements.Guide cross-functional teams through the deployment process, ensuring timely and successful delivery of solutions.End-to-End Solution Assessment:Conduct in-depth assessments of end-to-end solution needs.Provide modeling, prototyping, system/product lifecycle flows.Evaluate all deliverables, integration points, and dependencies.Plan, strategize, and execute testing.Consult to clarify needs for delivering application functionality.Ensure that requirements, architecture, design, and development efforts provide a cohesive and fully integrated end-to-end solution from ideation to operationalization.Knowledge of customer-facing portals that support ordering & buy flows, dashboards, care and dev tools, as well as solutions that drive software developer kits and/or API integration into 3rd party portals. Understand various devices operating systems, OATH, payment & cloud solutions and user interfaces will be required.Understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies from an end-to-end delivery perspective.Product Engineering:Gain alignment and understanding of the program across all architecture and delivery teams by comprehending and communicating the customer's business and technical needs.Perform or provide oversight and input into design, development, documentation, and testing of network and end-to-end product & system integration.Handle hardware, firmware, or software deployments for new or enhanced products.Client Liaison & Stakeholder Collaboration:Act as a key consultant with clients/customers to understand their requirements.Provide technical oversight to ensure comprehensive solution definition.Gather and translate business requirements into detailed technical requirements, use cases and flows.Work across cross functional teams to ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are addressed (inclusive but not limited to Legal, CSO, Privacy, Tax, Accounting, Reporting, etc)Collaborate internal and external systems/vendors integrated with AT&T, and all relevant AT&T systems and stakeholders.Work with local Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and vendors globally to ensure seamless integration and deployment.Test Strategy Development:Define end-to-end test strategies across multiple testing phases.Collaborate with customers and impacted systems/vendors.Provide oversight, leadership, and assistance in executing deliverables throughout the testing phase.Expertise and Skills:
Technical Knowledge:Deep technical knowledge in your specialty area and basic knowledge of other disciplines.Apply in-depth knowledge of standards/processes and integrate industry experience with professional/technical knowledge.Extensive experience in deploying portals/buy flows, products, platforms, networks, and solutions on large-scale, complex programs.Strong technical expertise in wireless networking, back-office system software, hardware and cloudProblem Solving:Solve unique problems through evaluative judgment and precedent.Apply sophisticated analysis in evaluating issues, develop new concepts/methods/techniques for cross-functional initiatives, and pursue alternative methods.Independence:Operate with significant independence, guided by department goals/objectives.Lead multiple projects simultaneously, varying in size and technical breadth.Ability to oversee the entire lifecycle of a project, from ideation to operationalization, ensuring fully integrated solutions.Leadership & Communication:Proven ability to manage and coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including internal/external clients, vendors, and local MNOs globally.Exceptional communication skills to articulate technical and business requirements clearly and effectively.Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive alignment and collaboration across architecture and delivery teams.Mentor and provide technical guidance.Explain advanced concepts to others.Handle critical communication across various levels of leadership, organizations, and directly with external customers/partners.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Math.Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in technology development and delivery.Required Skills:Leadership in multiple projects.Knowledge of IT architecture and mobility networks.Experience in software design and development concepts.Knowledge in transport network technology (protocols, equipment, services).Product development & testing, project/program management, quality assurance and testing, quality management, technical acumen, business orientation, and customer focus.Why Join Us?
