We are seeking a results-driven Lead Product Manager, Online Checkout to design and deliver world-class payment solutions for global merchants and customers. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product strategy for online and in-person checkout experiences, enabling seamless, secure, and intuitive payment interactions.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building best-in-class checkout solutions, integrating digital wallets, and managing the entire customer journey across multiple channels and geographies. Your expertise in payments, user experience, and global commerce will drive innovation and enhance customer satisfaction.

The newly established Global Solutions Engineering organization will deliver products for Global Markets, including key strategic initiatives such as Digital Wallets, that will allow expansion of PayPal’s footprint through intuitive experiences. This team will be responsible for building out platforms that will accelerate time to value across all PayPal markets.

As a key leader in our team, you will work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to define, build, and launch globally scalable platform technologies that empower developers and merchants to integrate payment solutions seamlessly. Your technical expertise and leadership will be critical in enabling faster, more efficient scaling of our payment ecosystem.
Your day-to-day:
Build strategy for and deliver online checkout experiences:
Define and execute the roadmap for online and in-person checkout solutions, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and superior user experiences.
Address the unique requirements of global merchants and customers, including regional payment methods, regulatory compliance, and cultural preferences for checkout experiences.
Design checkout experiences that are intuitive and frictionless from start to finish, including cart management, payment processing, authentication, and confirmation flows.
Dive deep into the technical details, working with engineering teams to design frameworks, APIs, SDKs, and integration tools that enable faster deployment and adoption.
Leverage knowledge of APIs, SDKs, and integration tools to accelerate development and deployment.
Team leadership:
Collaborate with engineering to design and build payment solutions that support diverse use cases, including subscriptions, micropayments, and cross-border transactions.
Leverage analytics to understand customer behavior, optimize conversion rates, and prioritize features that enhance the checkout experience.
Articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Serve as a key liaison for internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on product progress, challenges, and opportunities.
What you need to bring:
10+ years of product management experience. Deep understanding of online and in-person payment systems, including gateways, processors, and digital wallets.
Strong knowledge about global payments network using cards, ACH, bank transfers, real-time payments, alternative payment methods, payment gateways, tokenization, and risk and fraud management is key.
Demonstrated success in building platform technologies, APIs, SDKs, or payment integration tools.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, PSD2, and AML/KYC standards. Experience implementing encryption and tokenization solutions.
Prior experience in financial technologies, banking, and finance sectors in global markets is a plus.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred
