Lead Production Technician

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a talented individual to be our Lead Production Technician in Gary, IN. In this role, you’d be responsible for the day-to-day production operations at the Lakeside Facility, located in Gary, Indiana. The production technician will be responsible for safely, reliably, and efficiently operating cryogenic air separation plants. The role will include but not be limited to performing routine operating, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to work across departmental lines. Candidate needs to be able to travel up to 10-20% of the time to support remote plants located at Sterling, IL and Muscatine, IA. Must be willing to work rotating shift schedule at times, and adjust the schedule based on the facility activities. Must be willing and have the ability to interpret manufacturers' manuals and apply hands-on skills in repairing certain mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reading and interpreting Electrical Schematics, Process Instrumentation Diagrams , and Electrical One Line Diagrams
Perform calibration of analyzers and have the ability to troubleshoot control systems.
Have a working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
Monitors process performance and makes appropriate adjustments to remedy deviations and align to the specified norm.
Operates units to continuously supply products in quantities and qualities safely and economically, complying with all environmental regulations, quality standards, and daily customer requirements
Safely operate, troubleshoot, and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, boiler systems, and valves.
Operating forklifts/man-lifts
Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Responsibly leading and training a team of production technicians in daily activities, assignments, and operational needs of the 3 facilities.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Associates in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.5 years of Operations experience or equivalent

Skills and Competencies Required:

The role requires thorough knowledge and understanding of the processes, hazards, and equipment. The selected person should also have knowledge of company and site systems, policies, and procedures. The person must become knowledgeable of Linde, OSHA, ISO, and EPA standards. Good communication (written and oral), conflict resolution, and computer skills are also important competencies. Demonstrated ability to foster and direct teams in achieving results.
