National Grid is hiring a Lead Program Manager, Project Controls, for our office in Waltham.  This role is hybrid with approximately 1-2 days in the office. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.

Job Purpose

The New England Gas Complex Capital Construction Project Controls team is accountable for the development, management, update, and analysis of project schedules and costs for a $150M - $200M annual portfolio of complex gas projects.

Key Accountabilities Work with the Manager to oversee QA/QC of the Complex Gas Construction schedule portfolio Review and analyze contractor baseline schedules for adherence to the contract and the technical schedule aspects (i.e., DCMA schedule review) Bi-monthly meetings with Project Management to ensure that project delivery changes do not impact the overall portfolio Provide reporting as required within the Gas Asset and Management Engineering group and represent Project Controls within the Project Management team Summarize project performance metrics and provide specialized direction and recommendations to the project teams and management for the resolution of diverse project controls issues. Assist with Earned Value Management by working with the Project Manager to: Develop the budget/planned value of work based on the scope of work Determine the actual value of work completed by the project team based on milestones and objectives Calculate the earned value of the physical work completed Perform variance analysis including schedule and cost variances using indices such as the schedule performance index (SPI) and cost performance index (CPI). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management and 10 yrs of proven relevant experience 8+ years of scheduling experience in a gas utility, construction or engineering industry preferred Proven ability to analyze and investigate project conflict and its impact to the portfolio Proficiency in Primavera P6 is required Willing to work on other duties, as assigned Excellent attention to detail More Information

Salary - $133,000 - $156,000
