Position Specific Description
Our Central Maintenance Department is looking for a Lead Project Manager to join their team in Jupiter, FL.
The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for:
Planning and Strategy
• Develop annual work plans and strategies for execution of vegetation management program to meet Public Service Commission annual distribution preventative maintenance and transmission mileage trimming and inspection requirements.
• Support and monitor cost of day-to-day restoration and customer trim request (CTR) work within approved budget. Also, oversee regional operational performance of customer trim request inspections to ensure they are being completed within required timelines.
• Ensure main power feeder line mid-cycle trimming mileage is performed along with trimming on critical infrastructure feeders, meeting annual targets.
• Coordinate with FPL project teams from other programs to support trimming activities in their plan all the while balancing base work execution commitments.
Operational Expectation
• Provide specific plans and strategies to support vegetation management program inspection and trimming commitments and budgetary adherence.
• Oversees day-to-day operational execution performance towards mileage inspection and trimming commitments and other service level agreement targets for a large contract workforce including budgetary approvals and process compliance activities.
• Liaising with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Reliability support
• Works with regional operational leads and Arborists to create strategic execution plans, maximizing reliability opportunities while executing day to day corrective maintenance work on the system.
• Leads team that supports restoration activities during named storm events.
Governmental Awareness
• Works with and coordinates with elected officials and government leadership to advocate for legislation and programs which enable customers to plant trees away from power lines as needed.
Budget Management:
• Managing budgets, mileage execution progress to targets and performing budget forecasting exercises for vegetation management projects to meet Public Service Commission commitments.
• Maintaining records of vegetation management activities, including work performed, expenses, and compliance documentation.
Safety Compliance
• Supporting goals that ensure that all vegetation management operations adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, such as ANSI, OSHA and company safety policy to achieve an injury free work environment.
Environmental Considerations
• Supporting goals that assess and minimize the environmental impact of vegetation management practices, including adhering to conservation and sustainability principles.
Innovation and Technology
• Leading efforts to support the continued utilization of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data initiatives to improve the efficiencies of safe, productive vegetation management operations. Sufficient Power BI skills and the ability to utilize it to institute new program dashboards and tracking mechanism for work executed and cost is a need.
Team Management
• Leading a team of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Invoicing and Billing Specialists involved in vegetation management tasks.
• Oversee the strategic deployment of the required amount of tree crews and equipment needed for efficient work execution to meet targets.
• Develop talent, motivate peers, and direct reports to grow and learn in the required competencies.
Employees in this role lead and provide technical direction on business unit projects and/or project participants. Individuals plan, coordinate, and manage complex or long term projects to ensure completion of design and construction within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Employees are proficient in all aspects of distribution design, and fully knowledgeable in the interpretation and administration of company policies and procedures pertaining to distribution design.
