National Grid is hiring a Lead Project Manager in our Electric IT&D group.  This is a hybrid position which can be based out of Waltham, MA or Brooklyn, NY. 

Job Purpose

National Grid is seeking a Lead Project Manager in our Electric IT&D group to support STREAMS (Strategic Reimagining of Enterprise Asset Management Systems), a major transformational program which will implement a new, enterprise solution to replace existing legacy asset management and work execution applications. 

 

Working with cross-functional program teams, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing the STREAMS program to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include: planning and designating project resources, preparing budgets and tracking financials, managing risks, reporting on program status, and ensuring alignment to agreed internal and external commitments.  

 

Note: minimal travel may be required to meet program objectives.  

Key Accountabilities

•    Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of STREAMS program, ensuring activities completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards 
•    Develop and manage project timelines, resource plans, and reporting 
•    Create and manage to project budgets, including monthly forecasting and variance reporting 
•    Monitor project progress, focusing on the early identification, escalation when necessary, and mitigation of risks 
•    Manage dependencies across relevant resources, programs, and business units 

 

Qualifications

Required: 
•    8+ years project management experience focused on scheduling, forecasting, milestone management, resourcing, risk management, and reporting

•    Proven track record of delivering large, complex, multi-jurisdictional programs in a scaled-agile environment 
•    Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple workstreams while facing budget and time constraints 
•    Ability to hold oneself and others accountable, often without any direct authority 
•    Capacity for self-motivation, independent initiative, and effective problem-solving 
•    Bottom-line oriented, budget conscious, metric/measurement driven 
•    Demonstrable creative and critical thinking 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

 

Preferred: 
•    PMP certified 
•    Strong understanding of National Grid’s IT&D delivery methodologies 
•    Experience with financial modeling and regulatory recovery/allowance 
•    Utility industry experience

Salary

Waltham:$137k - $161k a year

Brooklyn: $146k - $172k a year
