Job Summary:

Altair seeks a Lead QA Engineer to validate a digital circuit simulator designed and developed using the latest cutting-edge technologies. The QA team works closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Development Operations to keep new code moving through the software development lifecycle efficiently, and with a keen eye for quality. A successful candidate will need the ability to navigate and adapt in a fast-paced environment, and utilize his/her experience to qualify new features and capabilities. 

The successful applicant for this position will play an important QA role in automating and testing Altair products in a multiplatform environment. In addition, you will work with other QA Engineers across Altair as part of our Quality Center of Excellence including Security Testing, Performance Testing, Automation and more.

What You Will Do:

Understand the business requirements and liaise with internal teams to identify system requirements. Create/Review detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases to meet the required test coverage. Work with the development team to create a comprehensive test plan for new features Provide technical guidance to the team. Run test suites, analyze test results, and track software testing metrics Report bugs by clearly articulating the symptoms and by providing the steps needed to reproduce Collaborate and communicate well across the QA team Work with the cross-functional teams (Dev, DevOps, PM, Doc) to solve issues and move initiatives forward  Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities  

What You Will Need:

Basics: 

6+years’ experience in hardware verification A degree in Electronics Engineering Strong Knowledge of VHDL and SystemVerilog Familiarity with digital circuit simulation products such as DSim, VCS, Xcelium, or ModelSim Understanding of QA software testing processes and techniques  Expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript to write complex test scripts and automation frameworks Guide and mentor junior QA engineers, foster a culture of quality, and share knowledge across the Quality Center of Excellence Skilled in assessing risks, prioritizing testing efforts, and making informed decisions about test coverage Continuously identify areas for improvement in the QA process and implement effective solutions Effective communication and collaboration with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and to advocate for quality Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues and make timely decisions

Preferred:
