Lead QC Technician
Basic Purpose Perform day-to-day quality control activities such as internal audits/inspections, record reviews, corrective action suggestion and nonconformity write up, and other checks of the production lines to verify that our products are manufactured safely following the established quality standards. Essential Responsibilities + This position is located within a manufacturing operation; it is hands-on and involves spending up to 85% of each day on your feet walking or standing. + Monitor, verify, evaluate, and document processes and critical process points within manufacturing to confirm compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, and legal standards. + Perform visual inspections, monitor product weights, codes, labeling, and other quality checks to ensure product quality. Responsible for keeping accurate results of all checks and tests carried out. + Enforce compliance with GMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), Personnel Practices, Critical Process Points, Food Safety & Quality Policies, and SOPs. Lead by example and follow all food safety and employee safety posted rules and requirements. + Ensure that measuring and testing equipment is set up and working correctly; responsible for calibrating and verifying production and quality instrumentation such as scales and thermometers per the established Calibration Schedule. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities + Bachelor’s degree in food sciences or related field of study (microbiology, biology, chemistry, etc.). + 2 to 5 years of experience working in food safety, quality assurance, food manufacturing/processing, product development, or quality control is a bonus. + HACCP, PCQI, SQF Certifications is a bonus.
