Lead Quality Compliance Engineer

Job Summary Reporting to the Deputy Quality Manager, the Lead Quality Compliance Engineer provides full value stream program support to the Quality compliance team allocations. Leading, providing training, and ensuring value stream cover for absence and holiday periods. The Quality Compliance Team Leader will also be responsible for developing expertise within the inspection and QCE teams, driving ownership of the processes to achieve the GKN and Customer requirements throughout the business. Job Responsibilities Typical responsibilities will include, but not be limited to (full job description available upon request): + Delivering the team’s objectives by allocating work assignments, providing prioritisation, and setting clear expectations to the team member,s and monitoring performance. + Providing recognition and constructive feedback to the team members to help increase their performance. + Managing the cross training plans for the team to ensure capacity and flexibility to meet the business objectives and develop the skills of the team members. + Coaching and identifying appropriate training programs to grow and develop each team member. + Updating and maintaining in the appropriate systems records for the team, such as time and attendance. + Leading and supporting improvement activities as assigned to deliver the strategic objectives. + Supporting site/entity manufacturing process managers and leadership in assuring and improving the manufacturing processes and product/service quality performance + When required provide holiday cover to ensure value stream buy off support as per the functions of the QCE. + Provide support to the Deputy Quality Manager, Group Leaders and inspectors, establishing and developing continuous training and process improvements. + Identify training and development requirements in order to ensure that the QCE’s and inspectors’ remain aware of GKN / customer and regulatory requirements. + Provide day to day support and guidance in the training and development of QCE, Team Leaders, Inspectors and Operators. + Deliver quality training topics across all program areas. (Quality Matters) Job Qualifications Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate: + Significant experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace + Experience of working in Quality Assurance Compliance or Lead auditing role. + Experience in interpreting Regulatory, Customer and Engineering requirements. + Experience of AS9100, ISO9001 and EASA part 21 and 145 requirements. + Experience in the use of quality tools and continuous improvement techniques. (PFMEA, SPC, APQP etc.). + Product First Article inspection and approval. + Proven leadership and people management skills. + Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. + Excellent organisational and follow-up skills. + Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making. + Commercially aware.
