Lead Quality Engineer
Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description

The Quality Engineer will have responsibility for all Quality functions for a specific program within the Composite Bonding operations. The individual will be responsible for ensuring all engineering and regulatory requirements are met to meet customer satisfaction and safety. The Quality Engineer will be a part of a cross-functional technical and operations team to focus on achieving the business objectives.

ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage specific Quality functions of assigned program(s) or area(s)Act as the Point of Contact for their program to inspectors and all supporting functions (Ops, Engineering, Sourcing, etc.)Design and develop processes that produce conforming and compliant partsEnsure compliance with AS9102, AS9145, AS13100, and Nadcap requirementsOperate independently to support production by providing concrete directionSelf-prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously that align with business objectivesEliminate process variation and product defects through creative solutionsDrive Root Cause, Corrective Action using established RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, 5 WHYs, ISHIKAWA, 8D, etc.)Determine product and process data to be collected; collect and use appropriate statistical tools to analyze data and recommend process improvementsEngage on all non-conformances, and support the MRB disposition and lifecycle using signature authorityActively lead and participate in lean projects that improve Quality, output, cost, etc.Participate in technical discussions and act as a pseudo-project manager between cross-functional teamsTake ambiguous direction and create a comprehensive execution planEffectively and professionally interface with external customersMake sound business decisions and challenge the status quoCreate and pitch presentations to leadership and customers, when requiredEssential SkillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsExperience leading and implementing changeExperience performing internal audits and participating in external auditsExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skillsAbility to multitask and handle tasks with competing priorities effectivelyDemonstrated knowledge of Quality Management System tools, continuous improvement methodologies, and in-depth understanding of site-level products and related processesDetail-oriented with strong computer skillsExperience with ERP (SAP) software applications and Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/WordComprehensive understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management SystemsExperience with CATIA, or another 3D modeling softwareExperience with lean manufacturing and/or 6 Sigma techniquesPreferred minimum of 3 years of experience in Production QualityAdditional Skills & QualificationsAssociate’s/Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality leadership roleBachelor’s Degree in an appropriate science, engineering, and/or engineering technology field is preferredComposite experience is a plusAbility to support on-sitePass background check including education and local/state criminalPass 10 Panel drug testUS CitizenshipWork Environment

The company maintains a beautiful, large manufacturing plant right on the water. They manufacture state-of-the-art components for aircraft/airline customers like Boeing and Airbus. Their flagship product is the Nacelle/Thrust Reverser, which is a large brake system for jet engines.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $56.00
