About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to take charge of the test automation strategy and execution across our product portfolio, ensuring the highest level of quality, compliance, and performance for Wells Fargo’s digital platforms, core banking systems, and financial products within our Consumer Technology group. As a Lead Quality Engineer, you will design and implement robust, scalable test automation frameworks and mentor team members in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects while driving best practices for automation and quality within the development lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of test automation frameworks and tools across multiple projects
Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to define and execute comprehensive test strategies for new and existing features
Mentor test automation engineers, ensuring they follow best practices
Design and implement automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing
Drive the integration of test automation into the CI/CD pipeline, enabling faster and more reliable software delivery
Identify and troubleshoot, debug, and resolve test automation issues, ensuring minimal disruption to development timelines, providing solutions
Monitor and report on automation test results, identifying areas of improvement and providing actionable insights
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in test automation, recommending improvements to processes and tools
Ensure high test coverage and that automated tests are efficient, reliable, and maintainable
Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, usability, and stability
Implement test automation best practices and encourage a culture of quality across development teams
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of workload automation tool experience
4+ years of experience in microservices and API development
4+ years of Automation tools, such as Karate Framework/Cucumber, and/or Test NG, BDD
4+ years of Java experience
2 + years of experience designing and implementing solutions for test automation using Selenium and Java
Desired Qualifications:
2+ years of Agile experience
Experience working with distributed teams

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
