Lead R&D Engr/Scientist
Join the industry leader to design the next generation of breakthroughs

We are seeking a Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist to lead the research, testing, and evaluation of refrigerant flammability\nproperties to ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulations.\nThe engineer will work on the development and assessment of\nlow-global-warming-potential (GWP) refrigerants, conduct flammability test, and\neffectively communicate technical information to industry and customers to\nassist their transition to new environmentally safer refrigerant substitutes.

Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical\nprojects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve research,\ntechniques, procedures, and products and technologies. This job will facilitate\ndesign, development, and testing to meet project objectives faster and more\nefficiently and you develop and commercialize products & technologies.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and conduct\n experiments to assess refrigerant flammability characteristics, including\n lower flammability limits (LFL), upper flammability limits (UFL), minimum\n ignition energy (MIE), and burning velocity.Develop and validate\n test methods for evaluating ignition sources, flame propagation, and\n autoignition temperatures.Perform Computational\n Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or other modeling techniques for flammability risk\n assessment.Ensure compliance with\n industry safety regulations and standards, such as ASHRAE\n 34, ISO 817 requirements.Collaborate with\n regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and industry groups to stay\n updated on evolving flammability classifications and safety guidelines.Assist in developing\n new refrigerants.Prepare technical\n reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.YOU MUST HAVEGraduate degree in\n Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Fire Protection\n Engineering, or a related field OR8+ years of experience\n in refrigerant flammability testing, fire safety, or related areas in\n HVAC&R, chemical, or automotive industries.WE VALUEKnowledge of flammability\n testing methods, fire dynamics, and heat transfer principles.Understanding of\n refrigerant thermodynamics, properties.Strong problem-solving\n and analytical skills.Ability to communicate\n technical information effectively to different stakeholders.Team-oriented with the\n ability to work cross-functionally.Experience working with refrigerants Knowledge of UL, ASHRAE, and ISO flammability classification methods.Hands-on experience in setting up and operating\n flammability test rigs.Additional InformationJOB ID: HRD258572Category: EngineeringLocation: 20 Peabody St,Buffalo,New York,14210,United StatesExemptGlobal (ALL)
