This position is responsible for ensuring staffing and oversight of the daily operations of the c arm and portable cases in surgery.  This includes providing patients with diagnostic radiologic testing, and the proper management of workflow to ensure that all patients receive the best care possible while assisting the surgeon’s needs.  Oversite will include staffing needs are adequate for add on cases, as well as assuring all equipment is in working order.  If not, proper channels are followed with service to avoid disruption of equipment needs, and communication to management at all times.  Annual competencies for Surgical Technologist on equipment operation and Radiation safety should be completed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

When assigned to work in surgical room or MASC outpatient, performs radiologic procedures with all xray equipment including C-ARMS and Portable units when requested by a physician.Keeping an eye on the surgery schedule board and weekly needs of surgical technologist’s schedule. Work the Department Radiology floor when not busy in Surgery/MASC.Takes necessary call to assure coverage for surgery cases throughout the year.Keeps current annual competencies and licensure necessary to work in Radiology as well as assuring other staff have their competencies and license. Job Specific (Minimum Qualifications)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated clinical competency in the field of Radiology/C arm exams.A high degree of independent action and exercise of judgment is a must, along with a creative ability to work under high pressure and ability to professionally handle stressful situations.Ability to be flexible and handle special requests and projects.Ability to take orders and act on the orders.

Education

Associates Degree in Radiology is Required.

 

Experience

7 years of Imaging Related experience is Required.

Radiology School with clinical work experience and a successful track record in the Radiology Xray field is required.

 

Certification and Licensures

ARRT (R) Certification is Required.

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is Required.

INDIANA RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST LICENSE is Required.
