Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist
This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

In this role, you will provide managerial and clinical leadership to the Respiratory Therapy Department staff within the designated specialty area while performing the duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
A caregiver in this position works nights, 6:30pm—7:00am, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the respiratory staff as designated by departmental management
Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and acts as a resource person for staff
Assign therapist workload and adjusts staffing based on patient volume
Participate in continuous quality improvement
Provide feedback on staff performance
Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols
Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team.
Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing, and LIPs.
Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (at sites where applicable).
Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (at sites where applicable).
If the employee is designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, the employee must meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate’s degree.
Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
3 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy including critical care or a specialty environment.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC.
Licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board.
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA), and/or certified as a Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) (as appropriate to site).
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA) (inpatient only as appropriate to site)

Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
