Position Objective
This role will assist with training, delegating, and overseeing daily job tasks of the Shop Technicians. This position will be responsible for providing on the job training to Technicians with maintenance and repair of all rental equipment in the shop, as well as completing repairs personally as necessary.
Essential Position Duties
Delegate work assignments, motivate, and provide coaching for the Technicians in the shop. Ensure teammates are engaged and answer questions as needed.Assist with training new hires on job tasks and process and procedures. Monitor and ensure technical skills are developing.Coordinate workflow by assigning jobs to the appropriate Technicians according to the Technician’s schedule and expertise. Communicate expectations of time/completion and ensure that jobs are completed within the required time frame.Assist Technicians in completing assigned work of repairs, service maintenance and/or verifying routine maintenance verses customer damage including assisting with repair related problems; verifying the quality of work by setting high quality standards of repair and measuring conformance for the standards.Maintains the shop area and equipment, including keeping the shop area and equipment clean, organized and in good working order and suggesting equipment replacement when needed to ensure safe working conditions.Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.Position Requirements
Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a high school education; Technical training through a vocational school preferred.3 years of work-related experience in an industry-related technical/mechanical function; supervisory experience and knowledge of shop tooling procedures preferred.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, non-verbal, and listening skills.Ability to conduct self in a professional manner and assist with conflict resolution.Able to articulate specific equipment problems in detail to management, peers and/or customers.Strong knowledge of the product and a good knowledge of the product market with a strong respect for the Caterpillar/vendor influence.The ability to uphold professionalism with both internal and external customers, including courteous treatment of peers, management, and customers.Strong mechanical aptitude.Good problem solving, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines and basic understanding of warranty administration.Moderate computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office. Moderate experience using database systems.A working knowledge of safety rules, laws and regulations concerning engine service, hydraulics, electrical, technical functions of various components and tooling procedures and capabilities.Self-motivated with the ability to work with no supervision and achieve required goals and objectives.The ability to work overtime and weekends.Other requirements of Position
