We have an opportunity for a Lead Satellite Operations Design Engineer to join us at Honeywell, where you will be the key operations engineer and planner and will participate in the development, design and deployment of satellite missions. You will leverage your technical and leadership skills to ensure smooth operation, mission planning, and integration of missions within Honeywell and also for external customers.

Key Responsibilities
\n\nMission flight analysis preparation, and design of the relevant ground segment planning architecture\nDevelop planning tools for satellite platforms, and for payload operations\nProduce operations documentation and flight procedures\nDevelop LEOP, commissioning and routine operations plans for satellites\nWrite and peer-review software requirements, mission requirements and interface control documents.\nProvide orbital analysis support for current and future missions, with tasks including constellation management, coverage, duty cycle, revisit and latency determination, maneuver strategies, orbit prediction, spacecraft performance assessments and link and command budgets.\nSupport customer design and technical meetings such as Critical Design Reviews and leading the Operations Readiness Review\nSupport routine satellite operations, when required, and assist in investigating on-orbit anomalies\nSupport satellite bus, payload and instrument integration and test, including the development of any pre-operations testing requirements\nInterface with ground station providers and help develop ground architecture\nInteract with the satellite and payload engineering teams\n\n\nCommunicate with Program Management, Chief Engineers, Development Engineers, Manufacturing, and Customers as and when necessary.\nMentor and providing guidance to less experienced colleagues on space systems and operations.\n\nThe Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.
MUST HAVE
\n\nBachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline\n2+ years’ experience in flight dynamics analysis, including detailed knowledge of STK and other flight analysis tools\n2+ years’ experience in satellite operations engineering for low earth orbit satellites\n3+ years’ experience developing or using satellite data analysis tools\n\nWE VALUE
\n\nExperience in the operation and/or development of satellite ground segment planning tools\nUnderstanding of satellite architecture and specifically satellite avionics and AOCS\nKnowledge of and experience with mission control software packages; specific knowledge and experience with Galaxy is beneficial\nExcellent written and oral skills for presentation and communication of the work performed – providing explanations to leadership and to cross-functional design teams. Work will include writing documents, white papers, presentations.\n\n\nAbility to proactively identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
