ClubLabs is the digital acceleration team for Automobile Club of Southern California, also known as, AAA. We are the team responsible for building intuitive customer experiences across the organization’s insurance, membership, financial, emergency roadside, and travel services. The Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. SDET) is responsible for developing software, frameworks, and automation tools to enable the teams to have end-to-end confidence of their applications. The ideal candidate for this role is one that values continuous learning, believes in the value that can be provided through quality engineering and has strong motivations for cross-functional development over multiple disciplines. A QA Lead knows how to lead by example, works well with others, is a strong communicator, and can help guide the team to in accomplishing the company’s vision.

 

Qualifications of a Lead

Experience with and a desire to coach and mentor colleagues.

 Responsibilities:

Create automation frameworks to drive quality and improve speed of deployment, with a specific focus on mobile applications.

Proficiency with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium.

Assesses and understands the flow of code and its interaction with various processes.

Documents processes and client demands for process improvement.

Logs, manages, and tracks user issues and cases.

Troubleshoots bugs and other issues on mobile, desktop, and web-based platforms.

Tests automation builds, execution, and script troubleshooting.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years’ experience in an applicable software development environment, with a focus on mobile applications.

Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented principles, algorithms, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.

Proficiency in Javascript/Typescript.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.

Uses software development best practices for design and coding. Continuously improve the code quality, maintainability, and readability.

Participate and provide feedback during planning meetings (i.e., pre-iteration, iteration, and retrospectives).

Strong knowledge of TDD, BDD, and Testing patterns.

Demonstrated ability to own, design, lead, and implement test strategies for complex applications and deployment topologies, especially for mobile platforms.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and create/explain/defend technical designs.

Strong experience with Continuous Integration.

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience

Working with pipeline as code and GitHub Actions.

Experience with Saucelabs and TestRails.

Load and performance testing.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$125,600.00 - $185,200.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
