LEAD SECURITY SPECIALIST
Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL-Direct Support to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position serves as the Lead Security Specialist in the Office of the Chief of Staff Intelligence & Security Office located at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. Responsibilities Serves as the Lead Security Specialist in the G-2 Intelligence and Security Office, Office of the Chief of Staff, within the DEVCOM Analysis Center. Manage daily operations of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF). Coordinate with the Ground Intelligence Support Activity (GISA). Manage the SCI security violations. Oversee the Intrusion Detection System. Perform all on-site security requirements. Distribute the team's workload according to G2 priorities. Communicate with the G2 Chief, Team Leads, and other personnel to ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed about assigned functional areas. Basic Requirement for LEAD SECURITY SPECIALIST DE-0080-03: Specialized Experience: To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as; (1) Implement security measures to safeguard Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF); (2) Troubleshoot security alarm systems in secure facilities; and (3) Utilize automated security databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DE-02 (GS-11 Equivalent). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information DEVCOM Analysis Center (DAC). DAC is an Army organization comprised mostly of civilian science and engineering professionals. DAC's mission is to deliver objective analysis, experimentation, and data across the entire life cycle to ensure our Warfighters are ready today and more ready in the future. DAC is one of eight science and technology domains within the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) that serves 21 locations across the United States. Our primary locations include Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; White Sands Missel Range, New Mexico; Redstone Arsenal, AL; and Warren, MI. This appointment is covered by a Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project. This position is in BUSINESS AND TECHNICAL CAREER PATH, Pay Band III Category II. Control points will be set within the DE-03 pay band at the GS-12 step 1 through GS-13 step 10 level (CAT2).
