*Newly awarded 5 year contract*
The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for overseeing the systems engineering related aspects of the contract and shall have demonstrated expertise in systems engineering concepts and processes to include MATE philosophies and MBSE methodologies. The Lead Systems Engineer shall serve as the primary technical point of contact and shall serve as the lead for technical discussions and technical issue resolution. This individual shall possess the ability to coordinate cross-functional team efforts to ensure system architecture and design align with project requirements.
Responsibilities may include:
Support the PI by translating the strategic direction into a feasible technical path to executionLead working-level IPT's and provide technical recommendations to the leadership teamRepresents the team in a technical capacity to the government customer and external organizationsPeriodic travel (~once per month) may be required to carry out dutiesRequired Skills/Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degree from accredited institution8+ years of relevant experience relating to DoD projects such as major weapons systems or major programs (e.g., ACAT)Experience managing complex systems over their life cyclesExperience with various engineering disciplines such as nuclear, aerospace, electrical, and systems engineeringMust be able to demonstrate engineering principles and concepts in reference to systems engineeringExpertise with requirements development and analysis, and the development of systems engineering-related documents including requirements/specifications, interface control documents, and validation & verification plansSolid analytical and problem solving skills; able to sort through complex issues and develop clear solutions, provide in-depth technical assessments and identify issues and risksEffective interpersonal and team-building skills, to engage at both the engineer and management levelsProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Clear and concise written, verbal communications and presentation skills; able to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations and options to the customerHighly organized, capable of handling multiple competing priorities; able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and quickly adjust in a dynamic environmentMust be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvementAn active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI and SAP. An active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret will be considered.Preferred Skills/Experience:
MS in EngineeringNuclear weapon system experienceSystems engineering certifications, such as CSEP, ESEP, OCSMPAdditional Compensation:
