Position Description: LEAD SHIFT OPERATOR
This position is responsible for the daily operations of the rotating shift at the uranium recovery Central Processing Plant (CPP) along with the operations of the uranium production wellfields. This includes but is not limited to operating water treatment type equipment monitoring flow rates, obtaining monitoring samples, transferring Ion exchange resin, eluting, precipitation processes, product drying and final processing. Documenting and daily reporting of ongoing work and inspection forms. Reverse Osmosis equipment and wastewater management for solids removal through a DAF system (Dissolved air flotation). A strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance is required.
Responsibilities:
•
Coordinate the daily and weekly operational needs with the plant superintendent.
•
Supervises and ensures accuracy and timely submission of required regulatory reports.
•
Supervise and direct the activities of all crew members on the assigned shift, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
•
Supports the company's vision and mission, contributing to long-term goals and strategic objectives.

Ensures safe operations at the facility, adhering to company and industry safety standards.
•
Performs daily operational requirements, including maximizing production rates, analyzing process conditions, and initiating actions to meet production and cost targets.
•
Writes and communicates comprehensive handover notes to ensure a smooth transition during shift changes or to alternate personnel.
•
Respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed to support operations.
•
Advise supervisor and/or Facilities Administration of potentially dangerous situations which could result in unsafe operating conditions.
•
Operate and monitor ISR wellfields for uranium recovery.
•
Operate and monitor the CPP equipment for uranium recovery.

Operate and monitor the DAF building solids removal process.
•
Collect samples from various processing equipment and perform limited laboratory analysis of selected samples.
•
Understand and use automated plant and wellfield systems to monitor and react to alarming and upset conditions.
•
Conduct required operations and safety inspections, maintain required written records.
•
Maintain required operations monitoring data and information in written and/or electronic records.
•
Troubleshoot plant and wellfield operations problems and complete minor maintenance activities; complete minor repairs to piping and equipment.
•
Responsible for chemical inventory.
•
Monitor flow rates on header houses and chemical dosing systems for usage needs.
•
Preventive maintenance on instruments and operating systems (Mag meters, turbine meters, Roto Meters, pumps, motors, solenoids, etc.)
•
Inspection on areas of operations, Wellfield and CPP.
•
Balance wellfield patterns as needed per daily operations.
•
Turn on and off production wells as needed per production needs.
•
Operate a pickup and other equipment on company premises.
•
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
•
Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by the company.
• Ability to work productively with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers.
• Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math including multiplication and division.
•
Experience working with pulling units and/or water or oil well service type activities.
•
Ability to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions of equipment.
•
Ability to accurately solve problems.
•
Ability to work long hours.
•
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments.
•
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift 25-100 pounds repeatedly.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hazards typically associated with a uranium ISR facility which includes the presence of low levels of radioactive materials and radiation, low to moderate noises levels, moving equipment, wet surfaces, uneven ground and facility equipment. The work is generally outdoors, and the employee can be exposed to inclement weather including cold, hot, snow, rain, mud etc.

**Pay Details:** $32.00 to $35.00 per hour
