Lead employees as they operate fork/clamp to unload/load trucks, to stage loads, take pallets and place on racks, palletize in certain cases, support sheeting, and maintain bale waste
**Job Functions**
+ Coordinates with supervisors/managers and the support departments (scheduler, etc.) to insure that all necessary materials and information are available on a timely basis for the Shipping department.
+ Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, packing slips, orders, or other records.
+ Enters data into automated shipment release, appointment scheduling and inventory data systems.
+ Determines method of shipment.
+ Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
+ Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
+ Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
+ Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
+ Routes received items to departments.
+ Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
+ Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
+ Operates lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage or work area.
+ Pulls customer samples from Quality Control and includes with product shipments.
+ Schedules appointments for deliveries and pick-up of shipments.
+ Prepares bill of ladings for shipments.
+ Pulls daily releases for shipments.
+ Assists with scheduling and maintaining shipping department when supervisor is out.
+ Keep outside empty pallet area neat and straight. Use fork lift to move pallets as needed. May be required to move or straighten by hand.
+ Unload all roll paper stock, moving to its proper waiting area.
+ Do all shipping and receiving of ink, dies, etc. Follow proper receiving and shipping check procedures. Some customers require special shipping procedures.
+ Maintain waste paper area (compactor/baler), keeping floor clean and bales properly stacked.
+ Load waste trucks.
+ Keep shipping area neat and clean. Dump trash daily.
+ Do daily preventative maintenance checks on fork lifts.
+ Keep propane tanks filled.
+ Cycle count entire warehouse every Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (training will be provided)
+ Any other reasonable request from management
