The MITRE Space Intelligence Systems Department is looking for a Lead SIGINT Ground Systems Engineer who wants to drive innovative solutions, thought leadership, and evidence-based recommendations so the Intelligence Community (IC) can deliver the benefits and services our Mission Partners depend on to make a positive impact in the world. Roles & Responsibilities: + Provide technical support to identify innovative strategies, concepts, and technology applications to support the automation of sponsor architectures. + Provide technical support to identify qualitative and quantitative measures of success (MoS) and processes to achieve mission success per DoD and IC directives. + Perform needs assessments and gap analyses. + Assess as-is and to-be mission architectures and provide recommendations to Government leadership. + Capture sponsor impacts to agency leadership for strategic decision making. Basic Qualifications: + An active TS/SCI security clearance. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. + Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. + Typically requires a degree in physics, applied mathematics, aerospace, software development for engineering/physical systems, mechanical engineering, or related discipline and work experience with a strong technical background. + Demonstrated experience with modeling, simulation, and analysis of space systems and space-related operations. + Understanding of space-related physics and engineering concepts, for example, orbital mechanics, satellite propagation, space-based ISR, satellite communications, space domain awareness, etc. + Knowledge of enterprise architecture. + Ability to proactively formulate key analytical questions to drive modeling, simulation, experimentation, and prototyping. + Proficiency in DoD and IC space sponsors and their role in the development, acquisition, and operational lifecycle and the ability to work across to achieve higher level strategic objectives. + Experience with understanding & presenting technical studies to senior decision-makers to drive action and outcomes. + This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
