Job Description
The Sr Site Quality Specialist is responsible for the implementation of quality programs on projects to ensure that projects are fabricated, installed, examined, tested, and documented in accordance with the project specifications, governing codes of construction, and contract documents.
ResponsibilitiesAssist the Construction Quality Section Manager with managing and mentoring quality personnel relative to the scope, complexity, and logistics of work.Assist with specification reviews to develop the Construction Quality Plan for the project.Collaborate with Engineering to address elevated quality requirements.Develop Inspection and Test Plans in collaboration with the project team and verify execution through assessments.Review and confirm compliance of subcontractor Quality submittals and their Inspection and Test Plans.Lead preparatory meetings and communicate contractual quality requirements to subcontractors to achieve quality objectives.Proactively support the successful implementation of the Construction Quality Plan, including key processes such as document management, material management, and special processes.Communicate any complexities associated with upcoming work and monitor installation activities.Inspect fabricated/installed products and services to confirm compliance with project specifications and drawings, and document results as required.Review quality verification documents to ensure all attributes are addressed and compliance with specifications and drawings is confirmed.Manage the punch list and perform acceptance inspections of completed items.Manage weekly quality meetings with clients and subcontractors.Recommend enhancements and changes to the Quality Management System.Identify, segregate, document, disposition, and track nonconformance through acceptance and closure.Confirm that Welding Procedure Specifications and associated Procedure Qualification Records are reviewed by the Welding Subject Matter Expert.Analyze procedures to support the preferred approach to specific activities.Assist the Construction Quality Manager with assigning Welding Procedure Specifications to applicable weldments.Assist in the setup and tracking of welder to weld traceability.Track project quality metrics.Ensure project turnover packages are populated and correspond to project activities.Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety standards.Participate in the Task Safety Observations (TSO) process and define corrective measures for problem areas.Perform other duties as assigned.Comply with all policies and standards.Essential SkillsQuality assuranceConstruction managementWeldingAWS certificationCertified Welding Inspector (CWI)Construction qualityQuality controlAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED with 11 years of relevant experience in implementing and managing a quality programAssociate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination, or related field with 9 years of relevant experience in implementing and managing a quality programBachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination, or related field with 7 years of relevant experience in implementing and managing a quality programStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced technical writing experienceStrong computer and communication skillsDetail-orientedCertified Welding InspectorAWS CertificationWork Environment
The work environment involves adhering to safety standards and requires compliance with all Safety & Health requirements. The role includes monitoring construction activities and participating in the Task Safety Observations (TSO) process. The work may involve complex logistics and requires detailed attention to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $59.50
