Position Summary:

Position that is focused primarily on the capture of complete and accurate instrument information to support Asset Management Services. This position will use the basic functionality of systems and applications such as:  Inventory Capture database, Maximo, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.  The tools that will be employed would include various scanners and desktop computers.  This position plays a critical role in supporting site initiatives to enhance client satisfaction, account profitability and retention.   The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator and effectively develop and maintain positive working relationships with the internal and external customers.

Unity Lab Services is a business segment that supports the Customer Channels Group and provides critical outsourced on-site services at customer locations.

This position is based out of South San Francisco, CA.

Specific activities relative to the job function include: product receiving, stocking, product disbursement, inventory delivery, and other basic inventory management activities - by applying the functionality of systems and applications such as ULS IM, and Microsoft Office.

A day in the Life:

Works at a high level independentlyCoordinates with customers to schedule inventory of assetsAnalyzes varying reports to include: RAIL excel data, Power BI excel data, and expiring inventoryOperates various Thermo Fisher Scientifics handheld devices that include: ULSscan & Inventory ManagementFollows well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & work instructionsTake direction and communicates openly with Site Supervisors (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties. Makes decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements, independentlyPromotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvementsRaise customer concerns and quickly identifies the course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround timesRepresents Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, expertly and positivelyAbility to travel is required

Keys Responsibilities:Use inventory tools to collect asset data in laboratory environmentExport and analyze data for data cleansing to prepare for submissionTravel to multiple client locations as applicable to support account needs (>80%). Responsible for complete and accurate data input to Resource Center database.Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with clients and Thermo Fisher staff.Responsible for customer happiness and loyalty and overall asset data integrity and accuracyDevelop action plans and tracking mechanisms to drive continuous improvement.Ensure that all compliance and regulatory guidelines are met specific to asset management and services program to include all facets of inventory management through provided tools.Drive problem resolution at account as needed.Adhere to all Thermo Fisher and customer security and safety procedures.Support opportunities to identify and represent other Thermo Fisher products and services.Participate or lead PPI project teams as assigned to improve business performance.Assist site teams with escorting engineers to labs as needed.Other appropriate duties as assigned by Thermo Fisher management.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience in a customer facing positionProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).Must display a high level of confidentiality for both the customer and Thermo Fisher ScientificMust maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics 4I Values

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Life Sciences or Healthcare environment

Physical/Environmental requirements:

Physical Activity: Walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, lifting, PC work, repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, pulling, pushing, and hearing.Level of Physical Requirements: Light to medium work.Level of Visual Acuity: Clerical, professional, administrative.Environmental Conditions: Inside environmental conditions (office, labs, hospitals, facilities) which consist of noise, and hazards. Required to travel by airplane and automobile for meetings and training as necessary.

Interactions will consist of face-to-face meetings, telephone, email, virtual meetings and presentations, as well as other electronic means as needed with sales, service/support personnel, operations, finance, management, cross-divisional personnel, and vendor representatives.
