Lead Software Engineer – Content Management Engineering

At Williams-Sonoma, Inc., we build industry-leading technology solutions in Content management, PIM, and E-commerce technologies to serve our global customers across e-commerce, Logistics, Supply chain, Stores, and B2B channels. The E-commerce Engineering teams are responsible for the solution design, detailed technical design, development, quality assurance, implementation, post-go live validation warranty support and defining the monitoring metrics of the Content domain and system capabilities.

About the Role
The Williams-Sonoma, Inc., e-commerce engineering organization, is seeking an energetic and talented Lead Software Engineer to lead the Content Management Engineering and Publishing systems domain delivery teams, driving high-value, high-quality features to our industry-leading content management capability. The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively come up with technical design for capabilities across content management systems, influence/participate in architectural/design discussions, strategic planning, roadmaps, and decisions to ensure we build impactful, compelling, and scalable solutions in an incremental fashion, unlocking hyper-growth, data-driven decision making and creating a world of possibilities for our customers/business. Success in the role requires agility and results-orientation, strategic and innovative thinking, a proven track record of delivering new customer-facing software products at scale, rigorous analytical skills, and a passion for automation and data-driven approaches to solving problems.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and deployment of Content Management systems among cross-functional systems of e-commerce, Java Applications, backend databases, to design integration layer among E-commerce systems Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and engineers Design and develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable architectures Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility Write clean, maintainable, efficient, scalable, high volume and high-quality Java code, Spring boot services, SQL and PL/SQL scripts Be a SME in Adobe Experience Manager 6.x and cloud implementations Ensure high performance and responsiveness of applications Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies Advocate for best practices and modern development methodologies Create and maintain detailed documentation for system designs, code, and processes Ensure knowledge transfer and training for team members and production support team on new project go-live and best practices Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions Triage, research, and find root causes of Production Incidents Adhere to Agile development methodology – Jira update, story points for each jira type, regular updates to jira to derive accurate updates and trackingCriteria
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience. 8+ years of overall experience in developing and delivering Content engineering solutions with multiple active tracks. Ability to systematically gather relevant information from different sources to address an issue and make a prompt and insightful decision. Proven experience in developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience in making articulate and effective verbal presentations to different audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills including such areas as team spirit, negotiation, collaboration, pitching in where needed, and valuing and respecting individuals. Self-motivated and able to work independently.Technical Competencies required:
8+ years of overall experience in developing and delivering Content domain projects, preferably Web Merchandising tools, ECM, EDAM, Java Services, and backend databases, to design integration layers among content systems using AEM. Technical expertise in AEM Tech Stack and flows. Technical expertise and hands-on experience with implementing and owning enterprise-level web merchandising tools and related Content Systems. Expertise in building highly scalable and transactional Distribution Center applications. Good understanding of infrastructure, networks, and security with a focus on security life cycle management and cybersecurity.Our Culture & Values

The expected starting pay range for this position is $135,000 - $155,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
