About This Position

Engineers in T. Rowe Price’s Distribution & Marketing Services – Institutional and Intermediary Technology organization are playing a key role in helping build the future of financial services, working hand-in-hand with business partners to build client experiences that are changing the way people invest. We want technologists with a new perspective who are passionate about solving business, data and technical challenges. You will build groundbreaking, next-generation applications for n-tier cloud architectures.  You’ll be hands-on through the entire development cycle helping to redefine the way our traders, portfolio managers and analysts serve our clients. We are working to develop the firm's next generation data distribution platform, with the aim to seamlessly deliver real-time and on-demand investments data to a global network of distributed trading and research platforms. We are employing new paradigms such as cloud computing, lightweight microservices, and distributed and non-relational databases to deliver elastically scalable, globally distributed and highly resilient software services. 

Role Summary
This is a full development lifecycle role which provides an opportunity to tackle sophisticated business, logic, data and technical challenges. As the leader of your engineering team, you will be required to think creatively and bring ground breaking technology in-house. We will expect you to be agile / to lead / to think outside the box. In this role you will design, develop, modify, adapt and implement short- and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems, databases and applications infrastructure. You will review and interpret system requirements and business processes as well as code, test, debug and implement software solutions. You will also:

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience AND 8+ years of relevant software engineering expertise

Preferred:

Proficient in at least one programming language (Python or Java preferred)Proficient in handling files CSV, XML, SOAP, JSON/REST services, Parquet, AvroOrchestration frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, FiveTran, SnapLogic, Autosys)Good working knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS & Snowflake services
  - Snowflake: SnowPark(PySpark), Private data exchange, Data modelling, Marketplace
  - AWS: S3, Step functions, Lambda, RDS, EMR, Athena/GlueGood working knowledge of SQL and database concepts. Hands-on experience with at least one DB writing SQLs, preferably experience with SnowflakeGood working knowledge of data transformation/data curation capabilities with python or using 3rd party tools (DBT, FiveTran, Informatica etc..)Hands-on experience with DevOps/CICD/JenkinsExperience in using/managing source code repositories like GitHub, Gitlab

Work Flexibility 

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home

Base Salary Ranges

$139,000.00 - $237,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$152,000.00 - $260,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$173,500.00 - $296,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role.  Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
