**About the Role**
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a candidate for a **Lead Software Engineer** to join the **Post-Trade Technology** team within **Investment Implementation & Trading Technology** . You will serve as a deep technical expert, responsible for architecture, design and implementation of the Post-Trade suite of applications. You will work closely with other members of IT including other developers, business analysts, and QA engineers to design, develop, test, implement, and support solutions to meet business requirements. You will also interact closely with members of our Global Trading and Trade Operations departments in architecting world-class trade matching, settlements and trade communication capabilities. You will be faced with compelling challenges and encouraged to solve problems by using innovative techniques. You will work with and learn from exceptional technology and business professionals through cross-platform, data driven projects and assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Design, prototype and code new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack – services, web, infrastructure, and back-end
+ Partner with business analysts, QA engineers, and Trading/Global Operations personnel to lead the delivery of high-quality business solutions, including participating in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment and support
+ Work with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans which will including doing estimates, identifying issues, and raising risks
+ Work across various IT teams to coordinate and facilitate infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and cross-functional projects
+ Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance
+ Provide technical oversight and thought leadership across initiatives to ensure capabilities are developed with the latest methods and to the highest standards
+ Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior team members
+ Author architecture, technical design, and support documentation and ensure the adherence to established code-quality standards
+ Help with ensuring the stability of production systems by implementing tools for observability, data quality and alerting
+ As part of DevOps, be responsible for software deployment to production via scheduled releases
+ Provide hands-on support during on-call rotations and manage production incidents, determining root cause, appropriate corrective actions and follow-up when issues arise
+ Ability to work in a team-orientated, fast-paced environment with regularly changing priorities
QUALIFICATIONS
+ 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with solid accomplishments
+ Strong knowledge of Java, HTML5, Javascript, Angular, React, SQL
+ Experience with one or more enterprise databases like Oracle, PostgresSQL
+ Familiarity with messaging technologies like Active MQ/IBM MQ
+ Experience operating in a DevOps environment application with cloud technologies such as AWS
+ Experience working with Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools (Jenkins or equivalent), version control (Git) and Orchestration tools
+ Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality solutions previously
+ Excellent written and verbal communication
+ Be willing and able to work both independently and as part of a team, in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical environment.
+ Strategic mindset; strong work ethic
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, engineering, math, or related field, or equivalent experience
+ Experience in Financial Industry is preferred

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 80,000 - 180,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
