Overview
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence represents the next phase in the advancement of our digital transformation and is a significant evolution for MasterCard. We continue to evolve our Data Science and AI strategy to support aggressive growth plans, and we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities:
•\tProvide technical vision and leadership.
•\tParticipate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders.
•\tEstimate and own delivery tasks (design, dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements.
•\tAutomate build, operate, and run aspects of software.
•\tDrive code/design/process trade-off discussions within their team when required.
•\tReport status and manage risks within their primary application/service.
•\tDrive integration of services focusing on customer journey and experience
•\tPerform demos/acceptance discussions in interacting with Product owners.
•\tDevelop complete understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems.
•\tExplore new tools and technologies and do evaluations through meaningful POCs.
•\tDrive adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks, and review coding, test, and automation work of team members
•\tMentor and guide new and less-experienced team members.
•\tIdentify opportunities to improve an overall process and trim waste.
•\tShare and seek knowledge within their Guild/Program to drive reuse of patterns/libraries/practices and enhance productivity.
Skills & Experience:
•\tBachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
•\t8+ years of experience in Software Engineering with exposure to Data Science and Machine Learning
•\tStrong proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, or Scala) and frameworks (e.g. Pandas, Spring boot)
•\tPrior experience with MLOPs (model training, serving and monitoring platforms like ML Flow, Fiddler etc.)
•\tFamiliarity with Neural Networks and LLMs
•\tUnderstands internals of operating systems (Windows, Linux) to write interoperable and performant code.
•\tAble to perform debugging and troubleshooting to analyze core, heap, thread dumps and remove coding errors.
•\tUnderstands and implements standard branching (e.g., Gitflow), peer reviews and CI/CD practices (e.g. Jenkins)
•\tUnderstands and implements Application Programming Interface (API) standards and cataloging to drive API/service adoption and commercialization.
•\tApply tools (e.g., Sonar, Checkmarx) and techniques to scan and measure code quality and anti-patterns as part of development activity.
•\tHas skills to collaborate with team and business stakeholders to estimate requirements (e.g., story pointing) and prioritize based on business value.
•\tExcellent communication and collaboration skills.
•\tAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
•\tFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks) is a plus.
