As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Equity Derivatives Group (EDG) Sales & Technology Management team, your role will be integral to the enhancement and restructuring of the EVO application suite. This next-generation front office platform is used for pricing and marketing financial products. Your responsibilities will include delivering software components using the firm’s technology products, ensuring they are secure, stable, and scalable.
Job responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the development of server-side applications using Java and Spring.Design and develop scalable architectures, ensuring performance efficiency.Implement messaging frameworks, with a preference for Kafka.Develop and execute automated testing strategies, including end-to-end testing.Collaborate effectively within an agile team setting and communicate with key stakeholders.Provide DevOps production support to ensure application stability and address business queries.Mentor junior developers and drive design and code review sessions.Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceStrong hands-on experience with Java and Spring server-side development.Proficiency with NoSql databases viz. CassandraExpertise in designing scalable architectures and developing performance-efficient applications.Experience with messaging frameworks, particularly ActiveMQ, Tibco.Proficiency in automated testing, including end-to-end processes.Excellent teamwork and communication skills.Ability to provide DevOps support and mentor junior team members.Capability to lead design and code review sessions.In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with AWS and cloud services.Proficiency in UI development using React JS.Familiarity with container technologies.Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD.Knowledge of SRE concepts, such as monitoring and log tracing.
