Join the Point-of-Sale Modernization team! As a Lead Software Engineer, you will work on a highly complex, cross-platform effort with varying technology solutions (infrastructure, software, middleware, etc.). You will partner with product owners, business systems analysts, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver secure, compliant, scalable technology solutions. 
 
The most suitable hire for this position will be a highly analytical candidate with software development, problem-solving, mentoring, writing, and presentation skills, including communicating effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business partners. The candidate will be hands-on with a team of software engineers and testers, providing technical direction and leadership. As the technical expert within the product portfolio, the candidate will develop, unit test, debug, support, and document the technical aspects of the technology solutions within the assigned product portfolio.
 
Responsibilities:  Participate and lead in architecture and design discussions with cross-functional team members. Drive continual delivery of improvements to the applications and technology through sound Agile development practices. Work closely with Business Systems Analysts and IT management; assist Agile team members with day-to-day direction and clarification of requirements. Create design artifacts such as user stories, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively convey product workflow architecture and user experiences to stakeholders. Provide support and subject matter expertise on business rules and processes to the developers, test lead, and other team members during all project phases. Collaborate with Agile teams to ensure requirements, design, and desired outcomes are clearly communicated and attend Agile events (daily stand-up, iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration review, and sprint retrospectives) Work in the development of project plans, management of projects, monitoring project performance, and development of implementation plans. Provide after-hours support during the application deployment on an as needed basis. Lead and participate in development activities and guide the team to improve code quality.
