As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking's Post Trade Tech team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Designs, develops, and maintains scalable database solutions on AWS. Utilizes Python for automation, data processing, and application development. Implements infrastructure as code using Terraform to manage AWS resources. Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features. Optimizes system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Strong proficiency in Python and experience with AWS services (e.g., RDS, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, KMS, Step Functions, ECS, EKS ). Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code. Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, AWS CodeDeploy). Observability with Cloudwatch / Grafana / Splunk / Datadog Good knowledge of computing concepts, data structures, and algorithms. Experience with database design, optimization, and management. Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, API design, application development, software testing, security and operational resiliency. Practical cloud native experience  Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification. In depth knowledge of Terraform or Cloud Formation (IAC) Strong Python and software engineering experience. Advanced software testing skills  Experience in DevOps and working in an Agile environment.
