As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Engineering Enablement team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Codes, designs, and tests in a heterogeneous technology environment that includes JavaScript (ReactJS) and Java, while discovering opportunities for process and tool improvements to drive those from concept to implementation Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems Produces or contributes to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Advanced hands-on experience in React and Node.js Experience building APIs - RESTful APIs, Web Services, Spring Boot, with strong understanding of microservices architecture Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Proficiency in coding in Java or Python languages Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including entitlements and IAM policy Experience with Backstage is a plus
